Subscriptions

May I remind everyone that they MUST pay their annual subscription fees and also match day fees. Annual fees vary but all match fees are £1 plus any extra money that the team put together to make up the coppers.

The Wernley Bowling Club Rules

1. The name of the club shall be ‘The Wernley Bowling Club’.
2. The President, Deputy President, Secretary, Treasurer, Premier Captain, Alliance Captain, Green Keeper, and three members all to be elected at the annual general meeting shall manage the club.
3. The annual subscription due 31st March shall be decided at the annual general meeting.
4. No member shall receive any prize, whose subscriptions are not paid as governed by rule.
5. That the rules governing competition shall be the rules of the WWCBA. There should be a minimum of six for individual competitions and eight for doubles competitions.
6. Members may introduce friends by paying a green fee of 50p per hour for each person. The club member is responsible for the fee. Visitors may not play if by doing so they interfere with members playing.
7. A special meeting may be called to consider important business, providing notice in writing, signed by at least 7 members is sent to the secretary. Such meetings to be called within 14 days from receipt of application.
8. Any application for alteration to the rules must be submitted to the half yearly meeting for consideration and then submitted for the consent of the majority of the members at the annual general meeting.
9. Any dispute arising out of these rules shall be referred to the management committee for adjudication, and their decision will be final.
10. Any person having forfeited their membership owing to misconduct must be deemed to be ineligible to play on the green.
11. That the management committee will hold meetings as required.
12. Any new member introduced after the 1st May must subscriptions as per rule 3.
13. That the green is reserved for members only on match days.
14. The Club Championship shall be played off on a definite Saturday, date arranged by the management committee.
15. Average prizes shall be for 'A' & 'B' teams by points system. The number of games to count will be the maximum playable in each league is less than two. Points awarded will be home win, 2, away win, 3. Points will count for the team where the most number of games have been played. Where a member has played equally for both 'A' & 'B' teams then the member will be placed in the team where he can possibly win the averages.
16. If a member is selected for any team, and refuses to play for that team without giving satisfactory reason to the captain, that member will not be eligible to play for any side on that day.
17. Handicaps are a maximum of 21, and minimum of 15.
18. Selection committee to comprise of captain and vice captain of each league team.
19. Each team captain will select vice captains for the season.
20. Dudley 'B' team will be selected from players who would not normally be selected for any other team.
21. The management committee for approval or non-approval will review any new applications for membership to The Wernley Bowling Club.
